Life Coaching Lincoln
‘Life Coach’ has become a saturated term in the modern world and therefore it’s important to know the background of your coach. Sometimes you may be seeking coaching but as it can within any talking/opening up/dialogue based approach, other painful material can arise. You need to know that your coach is able to support you with this appropriately; either themselves if they have the right qualifications or signpost you to a more appropriate professional. This is an area I pride my work on as I am able to work with clients (within my level of expertise) should this happen.
I use a blend of approaches and theories such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
- Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
These are some of the benefits of life coaching:
- Improved Confidence
- Clarity
- Knowing what inspires and motivates you
- Space to think creatively and intuitively
- Positive encouragement and learning of accountability
- Action orientated, which is measured and reviewed
- Processes to transform inner obstacles such as fear, phobias, procrastination.
Life coaching may be something you wish to access independently of Counselling for a specific area of your life. Contact me to discuss how this approach may benefit you and the life you want to live.
What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)?
NLP is a model that helps you through a range of techniques to influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in yourself and others. It’s both a mental art and practice. The foundation of NLP lies in the concept of neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to reorganise itself and form new neural connections throughout life. This means that with intentional practice and repetition, individuals can rewire their brains and develop new patterns of thinking and behaviour that lead to success.
The Core Principles of NLP
NLP is built upon several core principles that guide its practice. These principles include:
- The map is not the territory: Everyone has a unique perception of the world shaped by their experiences, beliefs, and values. NLP acknowledges that our perception is subjective and encourages exploring different perspectives.
- Rapport: Building rapport is crucial in establishing effective communication and connections with others. NLP emphasizes the importance of rapport in understanding and influencing individuals.
- Calibration: NLP practitioners are trained to observe and interpret non-verbal cues, such as body language and tone of voice, to gain deeper insights into others’ thoughts and emotions.
- Outcome orientation: NLP encourages individuals to define their desired outcomes clearly and align their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours toward achieving those outcomes.
